About us
Education rooted in dignity, driven by justice.
Learning Without Limits was founded on a simple but powerful belief: every person — regardless of ability — deserves access to honest, affirming, and complete sexuality education.
Our story
Learning Without Limits was born from a deeply personal place. As the parent of a non-speaking son with level 3 autism, founder Dena McCraith experienced firsthand the gap that exists in sexuality education for individuals with developmental disabilities — and the silence that too often surrounds it.
With over 18 years of teaching experience and specialized training in sexuality education, Dena created Learning Without Limits to fill that gap. We believe that sexuality education is not a luxury or an afterthought — it is a fundamental part of health, safety, and human dignity.
Our work is grounded in the understanding that individuals with developmental disabilities have the same rights to information, relationships, and bodily autonomy as anyone else. We are here to make sure they — and the people who support them — have the tools to exercise those rights.
Our approach
How we work
Every person we work with is unique. Our approach is built around that truth.
Person-centered
We start with the individual — their communication style, learning needs, and goals. No two sessions look exactly alike.
Trauma-informed
We recognize that many individuals have experienced harm or have had their boundaries ignored. We create spaces that feel safe, predictable, and respectful.
Evidence-based
Our curriculum draws on established, research-backed frameworks including the Elevatus Training curriculum, designed specifically for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Collaborative
We work alongside caregivers, families, and support teams — not in isolation from them. Education is most effective when everyone is on the same page.
Our values
What we stand for
Dignity
Every person deserves to be treated with respect and to have their humanity fully recognized — in our sessions and in the world.
Inclusion
Sexuality education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of communication style, support needs, or disability label.
Safety
Knowledge is protection. We equip individuals with the language and understanding they need to recognize unsafe situations and advocate for themselves.
Justice
We are committed to dismantling the systemic barriers that have historically excluded people with disabilities from comprehensive health education.
About me
Dena McCraith, M.Ed.
Founder & Educator
I am a sexuality educator with over 18 years of teaching experience (2007–present), a master's degree in education, and specialized training in sexuality education for individuals with developmental disabilities. My work sits at the intersection of disability advocacy, health education, and human rights.
I am also the mom of a non-speaking son with level 3 autism. That experience shapes everything I do. I know what it feels like to search for resources that actually meet your child where they are — and to come up empty. I started Learning Without Limits because I didn't want other families to face that same silence.
I am trained through Elevatus Training, a nationally recognized program specifically designed to support sexuality education for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to every session, workshop, and consultation I offer.
